A plasma pen works by converting electrical energy into electrostatic energy, which generates a plasma arc to the skin's surface. The Process

​ 

1. Energy Conversion: 

   The pen converts electrical energy into electrostatic energy. 

2. Plasma Arc Generation: 

   The device mixes nitrogen and oxygen to create an arc of plasma that is discharged from the probe to the skin. 

3. Micro-Trauma and Contraction: 

This plasma arc causes a micro-trauma to the skin, simultaneously heating and disrupting the dermal structure. The skin tissue immediately contracts, and small dots (scabs) form on the surface. ​​

   4. Healing and Collagen Production: 

The induced micro-trauma triggers the body's natural healing response. This process stimulates fibroblasts (cells in connective tissue) to produce new collagen and elastin. 

    5. Skin Tightening: 

The increased production of collagen and elastin helps to maintain the skin's elasticity and promotes tightening, smoothing, and rejuvenation.

After Care

• It is imperative that you keep the treated area dry for 1 week 

• Vitamin A and C must be taken daily as soon as you book your treatment and for at least 12 weeks post treatment. Your body needs this to synthesise new collagen. You will not get the most out of your treatment if you do not follow this step!

• Apply the supplied healing lotion daily for 1 week

• Cleanse the area gently once a day with the supplied cleansing wipes

• You may wash the treated area after one week and the remainder of any scabs will wash away

• You must now moisturise your new skin daily as the new collagen builds to plump up and tighten the skin further over the next 12 weeks
